April 24, 2014
Pursuant to Chapter 131, Section 40 MGL, the Tolland Conservation Commission held public hearings April 24, 2014, beginning at 5:30 PM at Tolland Town Hall, 241 West Granville Rd, Tolland, MA
The matters discussed are those reasonably anticipated and published by the Chair.
Conservation Commission Members Present: Alan Binder, Valerie Bird, and David Spidal. Others: Marc Volk, Forsight Land Services and Ed Demming, Tolland DEP
HEARINGS --Open Hearings began at 3:05
1) NOI (Notice of Intent) - Applicant (Town of Tolland) Seeks to improve route 57 from Town Hall to Sandisfield line. Improvements include resurfacing, drainage
improvements and related Site Work. Mr. Volk represented Forsight Land Services who prepared the proposal and will oversee the bidding. Summary of discussion—Although the proposal was extensive, financial consideration will limit the scope of the work to milling, overlay and replacing culverts which do not carry streams or intermittent streams, nor cross wet lands. One culvert headwall will be replaced and replication of Boarding Vegetation Wetlands (BVW) will be followed (see page 2 of NOI application and pages 2-3 of its narrative.) Milled material will be stored at the town facility. No Order of Conditions is required since all work will follow the NOI.
Motion to approve the NOI was passed unanimously.
